41 displaced following Fayetteville motel fire

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Authorities said 41 people were displaced after a motel caught fire Saturday in Fayetteville.

A fire at Travel Inn, located at 321 Eastern Blvd., displaced 41 people, a spokesman for the city said Saturday.

Authorities said the Travel Inn had smoke showing when fire units arrived. There were 30 firefighters on the scene, as well as police officers and EMS staff.

The Red Cross said 19 people affected by the fire stayed in its shelter Saturday night.

The fire is still under investigation but is believed to be accidental.
