West Springfield High School is auctioning off part of its history.
A silent auction began Saturday for the championship banners in the school's gym.
The money raised through the auction will go towards new banners that will be raised in the new high school.
Certain banners are drawing a bit more attention than others.
"The 2005 baseball one is drawing quite a bit of interest," said the school's interim Athletic Director Paul Taylor. "That one is near and dear to my heart because I was the coach of that team. People are attached to their teams. They have fond memories of high school, and the banners seem to mean a lot to people. We want them to be in possession to those who mean the most."
The auction wraps up next Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., inside the lobby of the gym.
Students begin attending the new West Springfield High School on Feb. 25.
