NORTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

Jury deliberations continued Thursday in Northampton in the Cara Rintala murder trial.

The jury was handed the case Tuesday afternoon and have not returned a verdict.

Rintala is accused of killing her wife Annamarie Cochrane-Rintala in their Granby home in 2010.

According to police, the couple had a "tumultuous" relationship and had discussed divorce. Rintala's first trial ended with a hung jury last March.

Earlier this month, the jury went to the crime scene at Rintala's home in Granby.

This is the first same-sex marriage murder trial for the state.
