Mayor Alex Morse celebrated his second term in office with his supporters on Saturday night, as he held his inaugural ball at the Log Cabin.
Morse earned his second term as the leader of the Paper City last November, when he beat out political newcomer Jeff Stanek.
While the night was about celebration, Morse said there is plenty of hard work to do, as he strives to make Holyoke a more prosperous city.
"We've really been making strategic decisions to capitalize private investment and create jobs in our community, specifically around innovation in the downtown," said Morse. "We have some concrete stuff we're going to take this year and next to make sure that everybody in Holyoke, no matter what neighborhood they live in or what they look like, are going to be able to get a good job, a good education and live in a safe neighborhood."
Morse has been busy since his re-election, most notably, reaching a surrounding community agreement with MGM Springfield, making Holyoke the first city to get that designation while not bordering Springfield.
