Vacant house burns in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

The Fayetteville Fire Department battled a fire that damaged a vacant house Tuesday on Lawrence Avenue.

Authorities said firefighters responded to the call of a residential structure fire around 7:50 p.m. at 210 Lawrence Ave. off Rosehill Road.

Responding crews arrived to see heavy smoke coming from the single-story residence. The fire was quickly under control but the dwelling sustained moderate damage from the fire and smoke damage throughout the building, authorities said.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said.
