HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

A program known as Secure Jobs Connect honored their business partners in Holyoke at the Holyoke Community College on Friday.

The program was created to assist homeless and at-risk families by providing housing, educational training and job placement assistance along with many other services.

Friday they honored 14 partners that provide everything from job training to professional clothing for participants.

Square One in Springfield offers programs for child care, which Vice President of Advancement, Kim Lee said was a cornerstone of any workforce program. The organization also provides training and jobs.

Baystate Medical Center was another partner honored at the event. Program participant Milagros Figueroa was hired by the hospital through the program. Figueroa said she planned on continuing her education when her youngest child entered first grade in a few years.

Secure Jobs Connect has helped 143 families so far with typical job placement wages higher than minimum wage.
