9-year-old child shot in Durham dies from injuries

DURHAM, N.C. -
A 9-year-old boy who was shot on Jan. 4 has died as result of his injuries, Durham Police said Friday morning.
Jaeden Sharpe and his mother, 31-year-old Lakeisha Holloway, were in a vehicle on Lucas Drive when shots were fired into the vehicle Jan. 4 around 6 p.m.
Holloway drove away to get help and she and her son were taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
No charges have been filed, police said, and investigators are trying to determine a motive.
W.G. Pearson Elementary School Principal LaManda Pryor said Sharpe was a popular and well liked third grader throughout the school community.
