A Phoenix Coyotes all-star took a break from the ice to spend time with kids at the Phoenix Zoo Sunday.
Keith Yandle hung out with families with the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.
The families got the free trip to the zoo after raising nearly $50,000 for research towards finding a cure for type-one diabetes.
"I think every kid should be able to come to the zoo and enjoy a fun day like this," Yandle said.
In addition to seeing all the animals, children also got to feed the Stingray.
Yandle said that was his favorite part of the event.
