Bride dies in car accident hours after wedding

BALL GROUND, GA (CBS46) -

A bride died just hours after her wedding in a single-vehicle accident.

Police said Ryan Patrick Quinton, 27, and Kali Shay (Dobson) Quinton, 25, were leaving their wedding in Ball Ground on Dec. 29 when Quinton swerved to avoid a dog in the road.

The Firebird overturned, ejecting Kali Quinton and trapping her under the car.

Quinton died at the scene. Ryan Quinton was taken to Northside Cherokee for treatment.

According to her obituary on Roper Funeral Home's website, Kali Quinton was a 2006 Graduate of Pickens County High School. She was working as an orthodontic assistant with Hiser Orthodontics in Cumming.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday after 6 p.m., all day on Thursday and until the funeral hour on Friday.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, interment to follow in Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.

Charges are pending against Ryan Quinton upon results of a blood alcohol test.
