WMECo rates to dip slightly

Posted: Updated:
SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Good news for some Western Mass Electric Company customers - your bill will be going down in the new year.

WMECo officials tell CBS 3 their new residential electricity supply rate was approved by the Department of Utilities.

That will reduce the cost by approximately seven cents a month for the average residential customer.

This new lower rate is locked in for six months, through the heating season all the way until June.

The new rate begins Jan. 1.
