While last weekend's snowstorm, as well as the one this past Tuesday, hurt retail sales with Christmas approaching, it did wonders for local skiers.
As of Saturday, the Blandford Ski Area was open for business, five days earlier than expected.
Skiers of all ages were on the slopes Saturday.
Officials told CBS 3 that when they get snow early, it benefits everyone in the long run.
"We have memberships up here, so if we can keep costs of operation down by not having to make snow, which is very expensive to do, then in the future we'll have a little money in the coffers," said Lisa Masciadrelli, Blandford's director of children's programs. "Then we can keep our expenses down for everyone."
This weekend's warm temperatures will cause some melting, but officials said it will create an excellent base for future snow as the season continues.
