On Friday, CBS 3 confirmed that Chicopee was the fifth surrounding community to reach an agreement with MGM as the company hopes to move forward with a proposed $800 million casino in Springfield's South End.
The town of Longmeadow has not reached an agreement with MGM and it appears the sides are far apart.
Friday night, the town's select board approved a counter offer to the casino, asking for $950,000 up front for infrastructure improvements and an annual payment of $500,000.
The town says MGM's last offer included $125,000 up front and an annual mitigation payment of $100,000.
CBS 3 reached out to MGM for their reaction to the counter offer on Saturday evening.
They said they are aware of Longmeadow's proposal and they are developing their response.
MGM expects it to be complete by Sunday or Monday.
MGM will likely also find out on Monday if the gaming commission finds the company suitable to continue in the state's casino process.
