CHICOPEE, MA (WSHM) -

Chicopee has reached an agreement with MGM if the company builds in Springfield's South End.

Mayor Michael Bissonnette tells CBS 3 Chicopee would get $125,000 up front and then a minimum of $150,000 a year after the casino opens.

Agawam, East Longmeadow, Ludlow and Wilbraham have reached agreements with the gaming company that wants to build an $800,000 casino.

MGM released this statement to CBS 3 saying in part, "The MGM Springfield team feels good about the progress we have made with surrounding community agreements. We have enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Chicopee."

Now MGM must still reach agreements with Longmeadow and West Springfield.
