SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The United States Consumer and Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of a candle ring sold by Yankee Candle.

The product is called Pine Berry and the CPSC describes the problem as "the candle rings' synthetic foliage and berries are flammable, posing a fire hazard."

The candle ring was imported by Yankee Candle from China and sold nationwide at Hallmark and Yankee Candle retail stores.

It was also available in the company's catalogs and online at Yankeecandle.com. It was sold from September 2013 through October 2013.

The CPSC said about 15,000 of the rings were sold in the U.S. and 2,000 were sold in Canada.

They said consumers should immediately stop using the candle rings and return them to the nearest Yankee Candle store for a refund.

Consumers can also call The Yankee Candle Company for instructions on obtaining a full refund. They can be reached toll-free at (877) 417-2230 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
