Springfield firefighters were called into action a little after 11 a.m. on Saturday, responding to a house fire on Tyler Street.
Dennis Leger, aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, told CBS 3 that two families were displaced from the three-family home.
Leger said the cause of the fire is electrical, as it looks like it started with a ceiling fan on the third floor.
In all, the house suffered $5,000 to $10,000 in damage.
The Red Cross said they assisted a total of nine people.
Leger said the family that lived on the first floor was able to stay in the building.
