BOSTON (AP) - Suffolk Downs and Mohegan Sun may soon find out if they can proceed with a plan for a Revere-only casino.
The state gambling commission is expected to discuss the issue during its regularly-scheduled meeting on Tuesday.
Suffolk Downs, a 78-year-old thoroughbred racetrack, originally proposed a casino that would straddle East Boston and Revere. But after East Boston voters rejected the plan last month, Suffolk Downs announced a new plan to locate the casino entirely in Revere, where voters were supportive.
Mohegan Sun, which failed in a casino bid in Palmer, was later named to manage the proposed Revere facility.
Among the issues the Massachusetts Gaming Commission must decide is whether a new referendum would have to be held in Revere on the revised plan.
