Students, faculty and friends came together at Frontier High School on Sunday afternoon to pay tribute to one of their own.
They gathered in the school's auditorium to celebrate the life and work of Principal Timothy Merritt.
Merritt was the principal of the Sunderland Elementary School, as well as a former teacher at Frontier, before he passed away unexpectedly in September.
Edward Hines, a music teacher at the high school, said that students as well as faculty are doing their best to keep moving forward.
"When you lose a friend, it takes time to get back into the routine, but we're getting there slowly," said Hines. "Tim was a big believer in the community, bringing the community together and he did that in many different ways, but mostly he was a leader of our community."
Merritt was only 51 years old when he passed away two months ago.
