Boy Scouts of Troop 303 were taking in canned food for a good cause on Saturday as they spearheaded the annual "Scouting for Food" drive.
The group took in donations from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Friendly's parking lot.
The troop was also joined by local Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts for the food drive.
All of the items collected were delivered to the South Hadley Neighbors Helping Neighbors food pantry.
The scouts said this is just one of several things they do over the course of the year.
"We sell popcorn to raise money for Boy Scouts, do meals on wheels and an electronics drive," said Andrew Holbrook, a member of Troop 303.
The "Scouting for Food" drive has gone on for more than a decade in South Hadley.
They not only accept food, but also baby items like diapers and formula.
