TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Phase 3 of the Thornydale Road to Oracle Road Improvement project will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The project involves La Canada Drive to Oracle Road of the Cortaro Farms/Magee Road, according to a news release.
Select Development will begin mobilizing equipment and performing work in preparation for upcoming construction activities.
These initial activities include the removal of buffelgrass, installation of caution fencing, setup of an on-site office, and placement of traffic control devices.
These activities will be taking place at various times throughout the day between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Motorists may experience minor delays.
Phase 3 includes the following improvements: widening of the roadway to four lanes, adding a center median, providing bike lanes and sidewalks, improving drainage and landscaping.
The project is expected to be completed by spring 2015.
The Pima County Department of Transportation reminds motorists to obey traffic control signs and speed limits through the construction zone.
