Western Massachusetts residents took a walk in Stanley Park on Saturday, helping the fight against Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
The event was the 8th annual walk in the area, hosted by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).
Those suffering from the diseases have many different intestinal and bowel issues.
Organizers said the foundation plays a large role in helping those patients.
"Our collective goal is to raise enough money to find a cure for the disease," said Kimberly Frederick, senior regional executive director of CCFA. "We put 80 percent of every dollar raised back into our mission, which is three-fold. We do research, advocacy, and we do education and support programs for patients."
Anyone who could not take part in the walk can still help support the foundation by visiting their website: www.ccfa.org.
