Students and staff at an Arizona high school are mourning the loss of their head football coach.

Florence High School posted this statement on the school website.

Stephen McKane, Florence High School head Varsity Football coach and teacher for the previous 2- 1/2 years suddenly passed away on October 8th at Banner Ironwood Hospital. Coach McKane dedicated his time and energy to the students and families of Florence High School. His passion has been about strengthening the youth and developing strong character in all. He was a dedicated husband and father of three young boys

This is a difficult time for his family, as well as the FHS students and staff. Our head coach, friend, teacher, and father will be missed dearly…
