Thirty-three volunteer firefighters from across Western Mass are officially ready to serve.
State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan handed out certificates to the members of the "call/volunteer recruit firefighter training class" Wednesday night at Palmer High School.
Twenty-nine men and four women are now ready to serve in 16 fire departments across the region.
"It feels amazing it was a long journey a lot of hard work it will be good to head back to family and friends. It was a great accomplishment," said Lisa Hermanson, a Bondsville Fire Department graduate.
The graduates completed 240 hours of training.
