Firefighters were called to Orange Street at about 10 a.m. on Sunday, and when they arrived, they had to deal with a multi-family home on fire.
Dennis Leger, aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, told CBS 3 that the house suffered $45,000 to $55,000 in damage, with most of that coming on the third floor.
The nine people who live in the home, three adults and six children, are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
