A celebration 65 years in the making took place at Look Park on Sunday afternoon, as Baystate Medical Center's Internal Medicine Residency Program held a reunion.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the residency program and nearly 150 past residents were expected to attend.
Organizers said it was not easy tracking down their alumni.
"Before 1987, no one had an email address," said Linda Baillargion, the program's administrator. "That was the biggest undertaking. Calling and looking up people, using that Google engine to find folks and connecting with them after 20 years, it was really amazing."
According to Baystate, residents spend an average of three to seven years of their lives training to become physicians in their chosen areas.
