SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reported that Springfield State Rep. Sean Curran has filed a bill, looking to replace the Hampden County Hall of Justice on State Street.

Curran stated that the courthouse is outdated and nearly 50 years old.

The bill calls for a Hampden County Courthouse Feasibility Commission, to look at potential sites in the city's north and south ends.

Curran said in the past decade, new courthouses have been built in Boston, Fall River and Worcester.
