Mohegan Sun Massachusetts will team up with Town Manager Charlie Blanchard and hold a signing ceremony for its host community agreement with the town of Palmer.
According to officials, the ceremony will take place Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Palmer Town Library.
There will be a press briefing following the ceremony at noon that will provide details of the agreement and the annual mitigation payments.
Once the agreement is signed, it will need to be approved by the Town Council. Members of the council will review the agreement on Tuesday, Sept. 3. They will then take a formal vote and set a timetable for a local referendum election.
Officials said Mohegan Sun's resort casino in Palmer will cost around $1 billion.
According to officials the resort will feature two hotels, a 70,000 square foot adventure-themed water park, 300,000 square feet of top notch entertainment, dining and fashion retail options and premier gaming and resort amenities.
