A pair of renters was looking for a new place to stay after an early-morning house fire in Phoenix on Tuesday.
Flames were blowing out the front window of a bedroom of the house near 21st Street and Thomas Road when firefighters arrived about 12:45 a.m., said Phoenix Fire Capt. Tony Mure.
One of the residents came home as firefighters were battling the blaze, which was quickly extinguished, Mure said.
The fire badly damaged the front bedroom, where the fire is believed to have started, Mure said. Much of the rest of the brick home sustained water damage.
"They won't be able to live here tonight," Mure said.
No pets or people were in the home when the fire started, Mure said.
