The Highway Department has closed a roadway in Granby from Route 202 to High Street because of a sinkhole in the area of 39 Pleasant St.
Officials expect this will take two to three days to repair as long as there are no other problems.
According to CBS 3's Bill Rapp, officials said a large metal culvert pipe under the road rotted and collapsed during the heavy rains Friday, Aug. 9.
Authorities said the pipe had been previously patched before another section of it gave way. Rapp said neither the sewer or gas line that run over the culvert were damaged.
