A woman told police that she received a threatening phone call before someone set her east Charlotte home on fire.
According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report, officers were called to a home along the 4700 block of Wildleaf Court in Charlotte on Wednesday morning.
The 35-year-old woman, who owned the home, told officers that someone called her cell phone and threatened her.
The caller threatened to "melt the victim's face off with hot baby oil," according to the report.
The woman's house was then set on fire sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
The Charlotte Fire Department is currently conducting an arson investigation into the house fire.
The Volunteer Disaster Action Team with the American Red Cross responded to the fire and says the woman lives in the home with two children.
