PREBLE COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two California men are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized more than a pound of hashish during a traffic stop in Preble County Thursday morning.

Troopers stopped a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner with California registration for an unsafe lane change violation on Interstate 70 near milepost 10 at 11:39 a.m. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle.

A probable cause search revealed two thin packages of vacuum-sealed hashish, weighing more than a pound, worth approximately $2,505.

The driver, Patrick Cirelli, 29, of Penn Valley, CA, and passenger, Brandon Mundell, 26, of Tahoe City, CA, a known drug violator, were incarcerated in the Preble County Jail. They have been charged with possession of hashish, which is a third-degree felony, as well as possession of criminal tools, which is a fifth-degree felony.
