Sunday was Mother's Day, and one local school did their part to make sure that their students' moms were appreciated.
Hampden Charter School administrators and teachers set out to deliver flowers Sunday morning to each mom of the roughly 275 students that attend the school.
Hampden Charter's director told CBS 3 it is very important to make sure families feel connected with the school.
"We are trying to engage our parents to our school and make sure they really know what is going on here," said Harun Celik. "What is our goal? What is our expectations? What expectations do they have from us? Basically, we are trying to find one key, communication, the right key, to open doors and we have a proper channel that we can communicate with our parents."
This was the fourth year in a row that the Hampden Charter School delivered flowers on Mother's Day.
