Holyoke K-9 unit sent to Boston to help

HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

A K-9 unit in Holyoke has been sent to Boston as an aid after the Boston Marathon explosion earlier Monday.

According to Holyoke police, Matthew Welch and his 15-month-old K-9 partner, Ryker, were deployed.

According to our media partner, Masslive.com, Springfield police have a seven-dog unit available to be sent to Boston if requested.
