Sen. William "Mo" Cowan has issued the following statement on the explosions that took place at the finish line of the Boston Marathon in downtown Boston:
"My prayers are with those injured and lost in today's horrific events. As this situation continues to develop and our first responders continue their effort to ensure the safety of our friends and family in Boston, there are still far more questions than answers. I have been in contact with Governor Patrick, and my office has been in touch with staff at the White House and in Mayor Menino's office. I will continue to work closely with our federal partners to ensure that appropriate federal assistance will be provided as soon as possible. Tonight, I ask everyone in Massachusetts to follow the guidance of the Boston Police Commissioner and Governor Patrick to stay safe."
