Rep. Richard E. Neal released the following statement Monday following the two explosions that occurred at the finish line of the Boston Marathon:
"Like every American, my thoughts and prayers are with the runners and spectators who were in Boston today for the annual Boston Marathon. I am particularly concerned about the safety of the many runners and loved ones from western and central Massachusetts who were visiting the city for the race. The television footage from the finish line in Copley Square is incredibly sad and distressing. I strongly support the ongoing efforts of local, state and federal law enforcement authorities who are investigating this senseless tragedy. The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be brought to justice."
