Cambridge pedestrian dies after being struck by car early Wednesday

There are new details as Massachusetts State Police continue to investigate a serious crash between a vehicle and pedestrian on Land Boulevard in Boston. 

The pedestrian has been identified as Conrado Medina, 67, of East Boston.  

Medina died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver is not being identified at this time.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if criminal charges are warranted.

Police said Medina was struck at 5:12 a.m. Wednesday at 40 Land Blvd., near the Royal Sonesta Hotel. 

Medina was transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The motorist, a 40-year-old Cambridge man operating a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, remained at the scene.  

The investigation is being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the Middlesex County State Police Detective Unit.

No further information is being released at this time. Updates will be provided as we receive them.
