SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

For the first time, the Springfield City hall will "go blue" to recognize World Autism Awareness Day.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno issued a proclamation Tuesday morning to recognize this day.

The City Hall will join 100,000 homes across north America that will "light-it-up blue."

Blue light bulbs have been put in the sconces outside of city hall to raise awareness and comfort those in the community who are affected by the disorder.
