The Springfield Rescue Mission held an Easter dinner on Saturday to feed the city's homeless and those in need.
More than 60 volunteers gathered to help serve meals throughout the day.
The volunteers helped serve breakfast, dinner and some served meals to the city's elderly who could not leave home.
The Mission expected to serve more than 500 meals Saturday.
Volunteers said most who come in for a meal are just happy to be there.
"Most people are so grateful and so happy to get the food and just to come into a place that is so welcoming to them," said volunteer Patty Rzasa. "No judgement, just come in and get a meal. I think they really appreciate it."
The Mission served over 110,000 meals in 2012.
