Holyoke's school committee picked Sergio Paez, the manager of supplement support services for Worcester Public Schools, to be their next superintendent at a meeting Wednesday night.
Paez was one of three finalists for the positions going through public interviews this week.
The other finalists for the job were senior administrator of common-core for the Springfield Public School System, and current Holyoke Public Schools assistant superintendent Kimberly Wells.
Paez will be taking over for Superintendent David Dupont who has worked for the school department for 40 years.
