Korea National University of Education has completed a scientific first for the campus using ColdQuanta technology.
Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) February 27, 2013
Korea National University of Education, the preeminent university for teacher training and education in South Korea, has achieved Bose-Einstein Condensate using Boulder based ColdQuanta’s RuBECi® atom chip cell. Highly regarded for the quality of its graduates and education, it is also earning a reputation for scientific research. Within four months of acquiring the RuBECi® cell from ColdQuanta, Hoon Yu, a student of Prof. Jung-Bog Kim achieved his thesis goal and produced BEC.
Dr. Dana Anderson, CTO of ColdQuanta, stated that “not only is ColdQuanta the first commercial company in the world to achieve BEC, we are also the first company to have enabled in a fundamental way another team to do so.”
Research into applications of Bose-Einstein Condensation and related forms of matter have been relatively hampered by the complexity of knowledge and equipment required to cool and trap the atoms. ColdQuanta’s products reduce the unwieldy assembly of diverse optical, electronic and vacuum equipment into a simplified, portable unit permitting researchers to delve into actual experimentation into the quantum properties of ultracold atoms.
Hoon Yu, will be continuing his research in cold and ultracold matter having accepted a post-doc position at JILA, a joint institute between the University of Colorado, Boulder, and NIST. ColdQuanta would like to congratulate Hoon Yu, and is proud to be a part of his continued success in the scientific community.
