Springfield native Bishop Norbert Dorsey passes away - CBS 3 Springfield - WSHM

After a long battle with cancer, the Springfield Diocese said Passionist Bishop Norbert M. Dorsey, a Springfield native, passed away on Feb. 21.
He was 83 years old.
A graduate of Cathedral High School, Dorsey returned to Western Mass in 1965 as the Elected Rector of the Monastery and Theologate program in West Springfield.
He spent much of his career in Florida, where he was instrumental in expanding the Orlando Diocese.
A wake and mass for Dorsey will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, March 1.
