F-15 fighter jets based out of the 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Air National Guard Base will begin night training missions starting Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Major Matthew Mutti said the training missions are needed to make sure that pilots are ready to respond to airborne threats over the northeast. Mutti says that additional nighttime training is done in winter because of extended hours of darkness.
The training missions are expected to occur between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. nightly through Friday.
