SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

As the nor'easter ramps up in intensity, Western Massachusetts Electric Company has opened emergency operations centers throughout the region.

Company spokesperson Priscilla Ress says all of WMECO's employees are on call and ready to respond to any storm damage or outages.

"The snow conditions present additional logistical challenges for moving our crews to the trouble spots that will inevitably arise across our system," according to WMECo President and COO Peter Clarke. "That's why we've pre-staged employees and resources, and will respond as soon as it is safe to do so."

Ress says that crews will respond to emergencies and  power outages as quickly and safely as possible.
