SAN LUIS, AZ (CBS5) -
A 50-year-old Mexican man was arrested Saturday for attempting to smuggle nearly 38 pounds of methamphetamine into the U.S., federal officials said.
Customs and Border Protection officers and a detection K-9 discovered the drugs hidden in the frame of a SUV driven by Guillermo Eleazar Lopez-Rodriguez.
The meth is valued at more than $580,000.
The drugs and vehicle were seized. Hernandez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
