More than 24 pounds of cocaine was seized by federal officials Saturday at the Mariposa Port in Nogales.
Rafael Balvanedo Anaya-Arce, 37, of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, was attempting to enter the U.S. when officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection referred his vehicle for further inspection.
A CBP narcotics detection K9 alerted to the presence of drugs. Officers said they found 10 packages of cocaine throughout the vehicle.
The drugs and vehicle were processed for seizure.
Anaya was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
