AMHERST, MA (WSHM) -
An Amherst College study committee says the school is lacking in its response to sexual assault reports on campus.
According to CBS 3 Springfield's Media Partner Masslive and The Republican the Special Oversight Committee on Sexual Misconduct found when a student reports a sexual assault incident to the school, "It does not always seem to have worked very well."
It also says the process of filing complaints is unclear, emergency services are not coordinated and some personnel weren't trained well enough to handle the complaints.
The board of trustees have offered their full support of the report.
The study comes after publicized allegations of sexual assault at the school last year.
The committee says the goal should be to stop sexual assault before it happens.
The school will have a campus meeting Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Johnson Chapel to talk about the report.
