Springfield's school department is seeing a rise in graduation rates.
At Thursday night's school committee meeting, members talked about improvement in graduation rates and dropout rates in the city.
The graduation rate went up 4.5 percent last year.
Springfield Superintendent Daniel Warwick says the improvements are a result of everyone in the school system working together.
"I think it was a great effort by school teachers, principals and councilors at every school and my team at central office with providing support," he said.
Springfield schools have also seen a decrease in dropout rates by 1.3 percent.
