Eastern States Exposition to announce casino plans Friday

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

CBS 3 Springfield is following developing news out of West Springfield.

Eastern States Exposition officials tell CBS 3 they'll announce the results of their recent casino exploration on Friday.

CBS 3 broke the story last month that Hard Rock International may be interested in building a casino on the Big E fairgrounds West Springfield.

Town Councilor Brian Griffin told CBS 3 the Eastern States Exposition has reached out to real estate developer Richard Bronson for help.

Bronson has a lot of experience in building casinos.

The announcement will be made at the Storrowton Tavern at the Big E during what they're calling a "red carpet" luncheon from 11:30 to 2 p.m. on Friday.
