Residents got the chance Saturday morning to check out the city's new $17 million police headquarters.
Police said they have been using the building for the last several months, but Saturday was the official debut.
The biggest difference between Northampton's old and new headquarters is space.
The department is nearly doubling its square-footage, which will allow more work to get done in an organized manner.
The residents who paid the new headquarters a visit got to check out everything from the squad's ready room, to the detaining area.
City officials told CBS 3 that the building is a project that has been in the works for nearly two decades.
