Dozens of Western Mass families who lost nearly everything to various disasters this year got some holiday help from the Red Cross Pioneer Valley chapter.
This past year volunteers with the organization responded to disasters like house fires to help families recover.
For the past several months they've been collecting toys to give to the families for the holiday season.
The gifts lined the hallways of their Cottage Street location, where 74 families showed up throughout the night for the gifts.
Volunteers say it's been unforgettable watching families who have been through so much get some help in time for the holidays.
"They're so overjoyed, and it's so heart warming for us to see them so happy after they've had such a terrible time. There's been a lot of tears shed today but it's out of happiness," said Jane Robinson, a disaster action team volunteer with the Red Cross.
The Red Cross has been collecting toys for families affected by disasters since 2001.
