HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

What started as a routine traffic stop ended in an $80,000 drug bust.

State police told CBS 3 a trooper pulled a car over on Lyman Street just before 1 a.m. Wednesday because the car's license plate light was out.

The trooper smelled marijuana as he got closer to the car.

Police searched and found $60,000 of pot and $20,000 in cocaine.

Charles Berard, 27, and Kelly Arzate, 29, both of Holyoke, were arrested.
